Huldrekall is a 3 piece Cascadian black metal band formed in Seattle, WA in 2010 before relocating to Olympia, WA in 2012. The sound of Huldrekall is very aggressive and reminiscent of 2nd wave black metal bands, however it is not easy to draw particular comparisons to any specific groups as many elements of crust punk, prog/kraut rock, dark ambient and neo-folk are incorporated, sometimes all within the same track.

With “Into the Æther” Huldrekall dove headfirst into the realms of majesty and chaos, taking a deep look within the alternating kingdoms of dreams, reality and the blurring of those lines. Huldrekall's 2nd full length, “What Else Will Fade?”, continues their descent with fast and intense black metal complemented by moments of tranquil ambient and acoustics allowing time for reflection. From the opening track, “La Danse Macabre”, to the final offering, “Fading Light”, “What Else Will Fade?” is a statement of resistance against the oppression of modern existence.
